June Meeting

The TCMDC will hold it's June 18th. meeting at Riverside Park in Greenville PA. Meeting will start at 6.30 PM but come early and hunt. Nice park, lots of silver has been found there. The Club will provide main dish with members bringing sides, deserts, and drinks. All the normal raffles will be held as we are well on our way to having a lot of coins to bury for our Annual Picnic Sept.7th at Buhl Park. Make sure you get your 5 qualifying events.                                                                                                                                   On June 20th. we will be at the Autumn Hills nursing home 2565 Niles Vienna Rd. Niles OH. 44446. We will have tables set up so bring finds to show the public. This is a great place to attend as they have a car show, music, free food, hamburgers, sausage, hot dogs, ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn, drinks, etc.. All free, bring your kids, or grand kids and spend the evening. More info on times well be sent by email and at the next meeting. This is a qualifying event, make sure you sign in.
We had a good Fun Hunt at Columbiana Fairgrounds. New member Jonathan Coe found a cell phone, Biagio Coiro found a 1953 Rosie and I found a 1963 Rosie. Lots of clad was found, plus a couple of cars. We had a surprise visit from "Little" Brad Filicky, his mom, dad and sister. Brad was notorious when he first joined the Club for digging up a 21 ft. pipe in the family yard. He had cut grass to buy his own metal detector and became quite proficient with it. Well "Little " Brad is all grown up and has graduated from Brookfield High School and is headed for the Marine Corps in July. I know he will make them proud as he and his family were very involved with the club, from Joe cooking at the Annual Picnic to his sister helping Dave Taylor dig his finds. Tracey, Brad's mom hauled him everywhere we had a hunt. The entire Filicky family supported the Club for years and most of all supported Brad. Nice to see them and glad they took the time to come see us.

COME AND JOIN THE FUN

The Tri-County Metal Detecting Club meets once a month in Austintown, Ohio at the Austintown Senior Center, located at 112 Westchester Drive, Austintown, Ohio 44515.  The meetings are run by the President and informally run under the guidelines of Roberts Rules of Order.  The meetings include an evening meal for those present and fun activities with prizes which often include silver coins.  In addition, tips and technique are discussed to better prepare the novice for detecting valuable coins, rings, jewelry and relics.  Members bring their latest finds to meetings for all to see.  Finds are judged by the membership to determine the best of finds in various categories.  As an added treat, Tokens are buried in nearby parks which when found can be turned in at club meetings for a sterling award.  In summer months the club often goes on group treasure hunts to locations chosen by the membership.  The atmosphere at club meetings and events is always cheerful and pleasant with new visitors and new members being welcomed with open arms.  New members are currently being sought.  All are welcome, both men and women, child and adult.  Come to a meeting and discover where treasures hide and fellowship abounds.
